I'll have more to say about it when I get home, I'm sure (I'm rushing myself a bit for work schedule reasons), but pacing is a wacky mistress when it comes to webcomics--a mistress I have an infamous relationship with, I might add. Sometimes my show vs tell missteps and oddities have been a result of laziness or convenience, which I'll fully attest to; sometimes I lay things out in a particularly strange way for experimentation's sake, because for all my years doing this I'm still new to it.

Today's one of those experimental type things. For lack of a more graceful, steady method of handling what I'm diving into, I figure I'd just metaphorically blow everything up. It seemed appropriate, given the subject matter.

But now I'm just ranting. Hey--if you haven't subscribed to Mushroom Go on ComicFury yet, I highly recommend it. An account on ComicFury makes commenting on the comic a bit better, and ComicFury itself has a silly number of amazing comics aside from my own.

Subscribing to me once you have an account doesn't actually help, it just makes me feel good.

Excuse my lack of common knowledge, but what are the 2 first rules?
Silvayne 2nd Oct 2011, 12:50 AM edit delete reply

#1, read and know the Evil Overlord Lists:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilOverlordList
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JackButlersOriginalEvilOverlordList

#2, Don't get overcofident.

...essentually, read TVTropes, be Dangerously Genre Savvy, but don't die from it.

(note, not real rules)

*Holds up King's head*
Alas, poor King. I knew him, Martello. A machine of infinite fury, and mustache fancy. I hath tossed him off the moutain top a thousand times, and now how right it is to see him go down. My pride rises with it.

Aww. I definitely would have preferred seeing Guy and the bob-omb take the big guy out than McfrillybishieCoy.

Maybe they could hook up his head to a toaster oven or something to reboot him and keep him as a pet...

ShootURIout64 7th Oct 2011, 11:36 PM edit delete reply
Because there is a taboo on the name and if you say it he can find you...duh.

McCoy is awesome and all, but that was still kind of really disappointing.

Where did Palma go?
Bonz0 2nd Oct 2011, 1:03 AM edit delete reply
Bonz0
I think... a bit to the right of the final panel? Look at the trench in the wall from Martello's hammer. When Martello first slid down Palma wasn't in sight either. Martello hasn't moved since then, so why would would we see Palma? Palma may have gotten up but is still in a state of delirium. Which is why we don't see the rope.

I liked the layout today.

No really. I read it, came to the "with" repeats, went "huh?" Then saw McCoy kneeing Kingy's head off. Worked like a charm! I was surprised and I loved it!

Does this count as " Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?", or is KBB not powerful enough?

Also, when's the temporary website layout getting changed back?
Epesi 3rd Oct 2011, 8:38 PM edit delete reply
Nah, KBB's not Cthulhu caliber.

This looks like a Big Damn Heroes with a side of Shut up, Hannibal! served on a bed of Killed Mid-Sentence.

All your daily tropes in a single serving!
Whistle-Tall 3rd Oct 2011, 10:17 AM edit delete reply
If a relatively giant raven can jump all the way to the moon, It seems entirely feasible that an "average" sized one could kick the head off a robot.

But still, that was a terrific display of badasserie by McCoy.
Amaare 3rd Oct 2011, 5:50 PM edit delete reply

Now taking bets on whether KBB will put his own head back on at some point.
And if he does, who will take it off again?
Bonz0 3rd Oct 2011, 8:51 PM edit delete reply
Bonz0
No, the X-Nauts will steal the Big Bob-omb's body and it will become the new body for Grodus.

Think about it. All of BB-o's strength combined with the superior intellect and magical skills of Grodus. He'd be unstoppable!

Milk builds strong bones, especially in your neck. Kids, drink your milk. That way your neck won't snap like King Bob-om's.
