I can get why Palma's leaf-y top has to be unaffected by gravity, but how the heck are her glasses staying on?

Eh, whatever, still an AWESOME comic.
Ranter 10th Sep 2011, 11:24 AM edit delete reply
As you can plainly see, her furrowed eyebrows and expression are obviously holding those glasses up single-handedly. The pure embarrasment of being saved by a grappling hook, turns, then, into heat, which rises and keeps her top from flipping over.

I have glasses and I know from experience (just tested it too), you can easily keep a good pair of glasses on with your head upside down, do rollercoasters and shake your head violently without losing them. I have a cheap pair of glasses so they tend to slowly get off when i shake my head very fast...

So yeah, the Scooby Doo's "glasses come off easily" is a myth unless something actually hit the glasses and even given those circumstances it's plausible that Palma kept her glasses.

Does anyone know if that grapple actually refers to an object in a Mario game?
Grimlock13 10th Sep 2011, 5:41 PM edit delete reply
Grimlock13
The grappling part of it remind me the head of the living scepter in Booster Tower(Mario RpgLegend of the 7 star).

Connor: [picking out weapons and gear] Do ya know what we need, man? Some rope.
Murphy: Absolutely. What are ya, insane?
Connor: No I ain't. Charlie Bronson's always got rope.
Murphy: What?
Connor: Yeah. He's got a lot of rope strapped around him in the movies, and they always end up using it.
Murphy: You've lost it, haven't ya?
Connor: No, I'm serious.
Murphy: Me too. That's stupid. Name one thing you gonna need a rope for.
Connor: You don't f*ckin' know what you're gonna need it for. They just always need it.
Murphy: What's this 'they' shit? This isn't a movie.
Connor: Oh, right.
[picks up large knife out of Murphy's bag]
Connor: Is that right, Rambo?
Murphy: All right. Get your stupid f*ckin' rope.
Connor: I'll get my stupid rope. I'll get it. This is a rope right here.

Long-time reader, first-time poster.

Morgenstern, amazing comic, man. I know you and Obfuscobble have taken some flak over the art shift, but it appears to have worked out for the best now. Keep it up.

Azureink, HOLY ****ING ****, I thought I was one of the few who'd seen Boondock Saints! As soon as I started reading that, the whole scene starting playing in my head. Pure awesomeness there.

Sequel does too. Gotta admit that I actually saw the second movie first here.

The magic of censorship!

But it's possible that it has some kind of underwire or elastic to hold it in place under the bust. In fact, looking at previous pages I'd say it almost certainly must, considering the way it hugs her curves; if it were made of loose hanging leaves or fabric, I think it would drape over her breasts and then hang straight down from there, a few inches out from her body.

I feel just a little bit funny about analyzing this as I just have.

At least they were brave and courteous enough to state it in a sophisticated fashion. Note to world, Yes, some people think about anatomy! At least they didn't go into gruesome detail.

Oh, and I do not intend offense at you for stating that either, but it's 1:36 am and I am not in the most coherent state of mind.

PS still loving the comic so far.

I was about to say, everyone wants to post about her chest rather than about the comic itself.
Grimlock13 12th Sep 2011, 5:08 PM edit delete reply
Grimlock13
Most of the comment I see are not about her chest but about how her clothes stay on in her present position. That still mean that they have a discussion about the same area, but not for the same reason. Now that I think about it...

Hey, I meant to post yesterday, but I couldn't get on a computer. Remember 9-11 everybody. The event may have happened ten years ago, but people still need your prayers. <3
Evdog 12th Sep 2011, 8:45 PM edit delete reply

I get really annoyed when I hear people talking about 9/11 so much.

Bear with me, here...

I strongly empathise with the tragic event. Many innocent people lost their lives, and so many more lost family and friends. Such a foul deed should never have even been imagined, let alone actually done. It is good that we remember.

However...

There are so many other events in recent history that are of similar, and greater, magnitude than this. Instances where the death toll exceeded mere thousands, and the structural damage was more than a few buildings. The 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami claimed the lives of over 230,000 people in fourteen countries. There is currently A GENOCIDE GOING ON IN SRI LANKA that is receiving little to no media attention. I, personally, feel that this is cruel and unjust.

That is why I can't stand the excessive amount of air time 9/11 gets in the media, despite the fact that I am not even in the U.S. (I'm in Australia, by the way). Sorry for ranting, but I really felt that I need to say this.

And please spread the word to everyone you know about the genocide, because the news networks aren't going to do it.
Ranter 12th Sep 2011, 10:51 PM edit delete reply
I'm in America, and I agree with you. Why, in your opinion, don't you trust the networks to cover it?
Epesi 13th Sep 2011, 11:05 AM edit delete reply
All such tragedies deserve acknowledgment and remembrance. I don't think it's really tasteful to complain about people remembering 9/11 on its tenth anniversary just because it's not the only major tragedy to happen in the last decade. It shouldn't be a contest of body counts to see who deserves attention.

I am not trying to downplay the importance of the events you've mentioned or say that 9/11 is a bigger deal than any of them; you raise a good point. I just think there are better ways to raise awareness and support for the victims of tragedies than by complaining about which one gets more coverage.

Oh my god... I hate our news networks with a passion. If Americans want any real news, they have to go a lot further that the local network to find it.

@Epesi: I understand, and I agree, but I still stand by my statement.

@Ranter: Personally, I see that most news networks are biased, due to partnerships and agreements they have made (i.e.: If they're ascociated with B.P., they would not have covered the Gulf of Mexico oil spill). I_am_Solid_Snaek seems to be rather passionate about this.

I don't know why this isn't being spoken about, but the first time I heard it mentioned was by word of mouth. I only found more information when I actively looked for it, and that was only online from independent sources.
