So, two things.

One, thanks to ComicFury being totally awesome, you can now reply to individual comments. Like, there should be a Reply button on posts; that way, you can respond directly, which makes discussion a lot more organized.

Two, thanks to me being a total jackass, the site layout is screwed up. TA-DA. I thought I had a backup of the layout on my computer; turns out it was backed up on my old, pre-hiatus computer, and the layout files on THIS computer were for something else entirely. So... yeah. Site's gonna look kind of unimpressive for a little while.

I've been meaning to change the site layout around for a while now anyway, I was just hoping to not have to do it out of necessity. I'll try to have something worked out this week.

Great song. :) I actually don't care about the change in artwork. I think it looks good. It's just an art change, much like most comics go through at some point, like Garfield and Foxtrot
Evdog 9th Jul 2011, 7:21 AM edit delete reply
That little Shy-Guy was bold enough to run up to the scary looking Raven and hug him. Does anybody else see the irony in that?

Go still looks a bit different, but I don't care about the art debates anymore. Most people don't.

After hearing McCoy say "I was just as likely to have called him 'buddy' or 'pal'", I thought of several different things he could have called him.
Grimlock13 9th Jul 2011, 7:28 PM edit delete reply
Look at this situation closely. Those shyguy communicate through body language. Take the position of Guy. On one side you see a big scary raven with weird body language and on the other you see your own tribesmen with strange behavior and little to no body language. Where would you go?

Oh, just figured it out. Two things, the button nose which is not commonly drawn on guys and the thickly outlined eyes. ...Preconceptions of sex based on outward characteristics is not the best...
MegaManShadow 9th Jul 2011, 7:39 AM edit delete reply
McCoy: "Not a single stinkin' time."
Me (somewhere behind the scenes, to myself): "Maybe because that mask is actually his face..."
Why not? Besides, remember the Shy Guy enemies in Yoshi's Island and SMRPG? I don't think they change masks this fast. It's more like their masks move like faces...
Therazan 9th Jul 2011, 10:53 AM edit delete reply

It can be played for laugh; also, threre are illusionnists who can change costume completely within a second, how fast do you think they can change a mere mask? it wouldn't be surprizing for a race in which the masks have a great importance to be trained changing masks like an illusionnist.

Also i think they finally got McCoy right, but.. what did they do to Go!? XD
MegaManShadow 12th Jul 2011, 11:53 AM edit delete reply
True. However, in Yoshi's Island there's no showing that Shyguys change masks. They don't even hide, like in SMRPG, when a green Shyguy-type enemy spins for a magic attack. They just walk around or dance, and their masks move like faces. Feel free to prove me wrong, though...

Hi, everyone. McCoy looks more off than usual, as does Go. Maybe and off week. Still fun to read, though, admittedly less... just can't seem to get used to the new style.

I mean, cute, kiddy Guy, Go's sharp eyes, bleeding cyborgs...

Nope. Not complaining about a single thing. Nothing at all to complain about.
Pinstripe 10th Jul 2011, 8:49 PM edit delete reply
Working on the assumption that you are being sarcastic - you do know cyborgs aren't ALL robot, right? They can bleed just as well as an ordinary human.
EKA 16th Jul 2011, 2:16 PM edit delete reply
I was being serious, I think the bleeding cyborgs are awesome!

It's, like, the most blood we've seen in one comic page!

Ineedtobuildmorerobots 11th Jul 2011, 1:38 AM edit delete reply
It doesn't have to be blood, it could be some sort of hydraulic fluid, it comes in a red blood like color.
SilentMech 15th Jul 2011, 4:10 AM edit delete reply
It is coming from a cyborg, not a robot. So both are equally possible actually.
Sails 9th Jul 2011, 11:25 AM edit delete reply
I'm absolutely okay with all of the art in this particular comic, except for Go. That face...It's entirely feminine. I definitely suggest trying out some new eyes, without thick edges.
Corvianking 9th Jul 2011, 11:34 AM edit delete reply
I'm happier with the new art style than I was, guess it just took some time to grow on me, but Go's face really does bother me in this one. He just looks extremely feminine.
Aikidoka 9th Jul 2011, 11:48 AM edit delete reply
Here's something that will get your noodle cooking... Guy is a child in this strip, and he is clearly wearing a smaller mask. If he's been with McCoy all this time, where did he get the bigger mask from? Or maybe it" grew" with him....
EKA 9th Jul 2011, 12:28 PM edit delete reply
Whose to say Guy didn't carve himself a new mask? I'm fairly sure he could have.
Tutter 9th Jul 2011, 8:02 PM edit delete reply
(insert blue mouse) looking at guys mask in the present, it looks like he has a few scratches. So he's either gotta get cut in the next few panels or get a larger mask. Although, the human head doesn't grow as much as the rest of the body. So it's possible it's one size fits all.
Not Important 9th Jul 2011, 12:59 PM edit delete reply
How come Guy's clothes weren't all ripped like the other Shy Guys we saw earlier?
Owl 9th Jul 2011, 1:04 PM edit delete reply
Because he wasn't in the fight. He's just a kid so he was probably hiding the whole time.
Not Important 11th Jul 2011, 12:23 PM edit delete reply
No, see, a couple comics ago when they showed us his tribe, they ALL had torn clothes. You could see the chain mail or whatever underneath.
Owl 11th Jul 2011, 5:40 PM edit delete reply
They didn't all have torn clothes. From the way I understood it the green one, whose clothes are very much torn, was attacked and came to warn the rest of the tribe. The leader, who I think is the big shy guy in orange, seems to be gathering a party to confront the intruders.

Of course, I could just be a crazy person greatly misinterpreting what is going on. :)
Not Important 11th Jul 2011, 8:45 PM edit delete reply
...alright, I can buy that.
Lukkai 9th Jul 2011, 2:30 PM edit delete reply
I guess the problem people are having with Go here is mainly that he looks as if he was wearing eyeliner. And thick at that!
At least, that's what caught my eye in that last panel.

Great punchline by the way!

Other than that I notice some people complaining about parts of the art that other people especially praised. Which just about means: Business as usual for any kind of webcomic. ;)
Ranter 9th Jul 2011, 6:42 PM edit delete reply
I would suggest making Go's eyes more square-like and his eyelashes less long. The square-ness adds both cuteness and manliness, which was something I noticed about Go in the first comics that Morg drew. The eyelashes...well...

This comic looks a little rushed. You know, no one ever blamed Morg for being a day late. :)

I loved the second panel, it actually made me jump. Phew, I've never seen a panel that actually shocked me before!

As for the ShyGuy debate, you might as well ask why his clothes seemed to grow with him. Fun question, though.
EKA 9th Jul 2011, 8:00 PM edit delete reply
We've seen Guy tailor his clothes before, when Go burned him. He could have made his new, larger outfit.

Ranter 9th Jul 2011, 10:37 PM edit delete reply
Well then, there you go. That's what I'm saying. (I realize that someone has already said this before, but) he could have made his own clothes and he could have carved a new mask.

Or maybe it's the same mask, but all the shyguy's masks are made to be large enough to be worn at the adult age, as well as as children. It's hard to tell how big the mask is compared to Guy's face because you can't see his face to compare it.
Ranter 9th Jul 2011, 6:44 PM edit delete reply
The mouth is also odd. It's way high.
Futurevgd 9th Jul 2011, 9:36 PM edit delete reply
is that blood on McCoy's beak? I can't see any face wounds. Did he peck one of those Shys Guy Robot things? Thats almost a disturbing thought...
Whistle-tall 9th Jul 2011, 9:57 PM edit delete reply
Nah, he just knows to cut the areas with the highest blood pressure. That didn't alleviate any of your bloodlust based fears, did it? (kidding)
DTZ 10th Jul 2011, 7:03 PM edit delete reply
Beaks can bleed, you know.
Futurevgd 10th Jul 2011, 10:15 PM edit delete reply
That may be but, like i said, there are no visible face wounds. And what does he have to cut with besides his beak?

...and i just realizedthe comic is five panels long. Thats awesome.
Whistle-tall 12th Jul 2011, 11:59 PM edit delete reply
His talons. Or he didn't cut anything, and instead punched(or kicked) the high pressure area (which is what I meant to say the first time, sorry for the additional confusion)

The third panel, Guy looks a bit awkward, but he's just adorable in the fourth! Speaking of adorable, Go looks adorable in the last panel.
Also, is someone going to notice the question-mark box? They usually have something useful in them.
Tommo 10th Jul 2011, 12:09 AM edit delete reply
Only problem is Go in the last panel- he looked beteer in Ob's previous drawings of him.
Ranter 10th Jul 2011, 12:19 AM edit delete reply
I agree. I liked Ob's drawing of him on page 82 much better.
Tommo 10th Jul 2011, 4:04 AM edit delete reply
To me the only real problem is the heavy shading around the eyes and the slightly feminine look that his face has.
Canuovea 10th Jul 2011, 12:20 AM edit delete reply
I've gotta say that I'm getting used to the new style. I always knew I would, and I don't mind the change, but even then it takes some getting used to,

Go looks different in the last panel. I don't know if you want that to be the new look or not. Would work I suppose, I've no problem with it, but you shouldn't care what I think.

Guys, please stop complaining. Yeah, the eyes are a bit off. Big deal. The worst problems (that ugly blue creature that wasn't Palma, for example) have been fixed. The rest are just little itty-bitty things that don't matter. I'm really sick of the art debates now. So stop.

Concerning the page itself: Love it. guy is adorable, and McCoy is (as always) awesome. I'd love for him to be my big brother! That'd be so cool.
Tommo 11th Jul 2011, 3:44 AM edit delete reply
I would hardly call it an art debate (or even complaining for that matter). All we're doing is commenting on what we like/don't like and just giving Obscuffle some of our preferences with the art so the majority of the readers are pleased. It's all good.
Haya 11th Jul 2011, 6:50 AM edit delete reply
Just as Tommo says, there is no more debate (although the few people still asking Morg to go back are more than ridiculous), in fact I'm pretty sure constructive criticism has been requested.

McCoy's shirt magically lost the huge tear in the side!

Go would look just fine if his eyes didn't remind me of Gaara from Naruto...

Go looks WAY too anime for my liking, I think he was better how Obfuscobble originally drew him.

Other than that, I really like the added bloodiness to the comic, and the art is fantastic. Story is getting interesting, and I cant wait to learn about McCoy's backstory.

I also REALLY enjoy seeing the random blocks in the background, It reminds me that we are in the Mario Universe

Is it just me or is McCoy's left eyebrow burning in the first panel? And McCoy's bandages don't seem to reach his hands in the first panel (compared to the third panel).

Still hate about half the panels of the comic in this style.... but I'd totally hug little Guy in Panel 4 and tell him it's alright. Seriously, he's friggin' adorable.
Ranter 12th Jul 2011, 7:06 PM edit delete reply
McCoy almost seems resentful that he's never seen what guy looks like under his mask. I guess I would be, too.

Either that or he's tired of being asked.

CREePY GO! change back to his old face.

hilight areas: dont have eye lines overlapping other things
neck muscle lines also overlapping
i dont know what is hagging down his face
too bolded and contrasted on the black lines, sepperating his hair from his face
his neck is to high

and I thought were past the pretty princess afier.

At least it dosnt look like creepyindianbirdman is coming back, and i like the new mccoy.

Change that facial expression
