Boaster karts are a glorious reference, and a horrible idea in one package... He should not be allowed around kids. Also I wonder what Wario's been up to besides running his company.
Guest 8th Feb 2012, 8:31 PM edit delete reply
booster karts* stupid ability to not spell.
Drauken 9th Feb 2012, 2:30 AM edit delete reply
Actually, Booster karts are in no way related to the character. They're the kind the baby versions drive.
Silverpraetorian 9th Feb 2012, 8:35 AM edit delete reply
My impressions (I'm the same one who posted the first one) was that it was a reference to both that, and booster from super mario rpg. Based on all the other references I just lept to that conclusion.
Cammiluna 8th Feb 2012, 8:59 PM edit delete reply
I love the gostache and advertising!

Do we finally get to meet Blair? :D
FuzzyZergling 8th Feb 2012, 11:02 PM edit delete reply
You have outdone yourself with the costumes, Morg.
Personaly, I find Gentleman Go to be the best, with Sailor Palma coming in second.

And maybe more of Go's mysterious past be be revealed.

Blair's a boy's name.
Mr. Vareel 9th Feb 2012, 3:50 PM edit delete reply
Mr. Vareel
I'm sure I’ve said this on one of the earlier pages, but for the sake of general understanding I'll say it again. I've believe “Blair” is a unisex name.
Therazan 9th Feb 2012, 12:00 AM edit delete reply
Martello looks like a vampire, it's BEAUTIFUL!

And Go like a younger Toadsworth from a sepia picture.

What is written on that vending machine?

5/5 and yes, I'm posting again just because of the art shift. Not that I protest of anything, just that with the other style i'm not interested enough to bother with the comments. The story is still awesome!
Tobias 9th Feb 2012, 12:13 AM edit delete reply
It's KeroKeroCola! I love the little touches Morgenstern puts into his comic, it gives it something really special.

Blair... Argh! You make me want to watch more Soul Eater!

Blair the cat/witch! Causing nose bleeds and relationship problems since episode 1!

I'll probably cosplay Go's suit from this strip someday.
Tobias 9th Feb 2012, 12:16 AM edit delete reply
I so love the "new" art style! Both of them are great but when Morgenstern draws it, the characters personalities come out so much better. Obfuscobble's is more like fan art, awesome fan art, but just a tad impersonal. I honestly think the best mix would be if Obfuscobble did the backgrounds and Morgenstern did the characters, but if that was 100% quality, I would rate this 99.9% and Obfuscobble's at 85%. I'll keep reading no matter what, but I think this is definitely an improvement
Evdog 9th Feb 2012, 2:10 AM edit delete reply
^ This

Also, could Morgenstern and Cammiluna arrange something in the near future, so they can draw each other's comic for one page, or do some sort of extra "crossover special"?
Ranter 9th Feb 2012, 5:08 PM edit delete reply
^^ Agreed

"There isn't a force within 5 hours of here that's even close to threatening us..." Unless Mario happens to be racing that day, then they'd be royally screwed.
CyberSkull 9th Feb 2012, 2:57 AM edit delete reply
I'd be worried about the kart drivers. I mean, aren't blue shells some kind of restricted military weapon?
the_unchosen_one 9th Feb 2012, 3:55 AM edit delete reply
GASP! You can see Palma's eyes!
Fuzzy 9th Feb 2012, 5:55 AM edit delete reply
I'm a lover of the old style. And I could NOT stop laughing as I read McCoy's lines. The voice of reason is often ignored in lieu of nonsensical amusement. Plus, Go gets a Toadsworth costume. I am in love with this chapter already.
Fuzzy 9th Feb 2012, 5:58 AM edit delete reply
Hm. Scratch the Toadsworth bit. Comparable, but not quite the real thing. It is still pretty cool.

So what do you think he had to absorb in order to grow that go-stache?

So... If Go absorbs the Vim in that moustache will he turn into Chewbacca?

I just realized something. Palma's hands are larger than her sleeves. How could she put that shirt on? I mean, normally it hasn't been an issue because she'd wear a sleeveless top. But how does that work?
Mr. Vareel 9th Feb 2012, 4:00 PM edit delete reply
Mr. Vareel

Ranter 9th Feb 2012, 5:09 PM edit delete reply
sigh...so handsome. <3
the_unchosen_one 9th Feb 2012, 5:58 PM edit delete reply
Not a haircut, he just pulled his hair around to be a mustache. It went through his ears and out of his nose. That's why there's no sideburns to be seen
MeowMixIsorCats339 9th Feb 2012, 7:36 PM edit delete reply
My theory is that they used the hair they cut from his head for his mustache.
Tobias 10th Feb 2012, 5:17 PM edit delete reply
I initially read that as "Go get a haircut" and was confused

'Fungus' is Blair....

.....Oh snap.....
MeowMixIsorCats339 9th Feb 2012, 7:38 PM edit delete reply
Dude, that would totally explain why Fungus is able to fix stuff up.

Also I think Go broke up with her because she was way taller then him.

That or Jack is just short.
Infamous Nefarious 11th Feb 2012, 8:15 AM edit delete reply
Infamous Nefarious
Yeah that's not just some goofy looking mask.... That's Go's mushroom cap. Those things are easily big enough to fit a persons whole head inside. Or a whole midget. Cut some eyeholes in it? Voila! Good-bye Blair and hello FUNGUS.

This leads me to two further suspicions.

One: She's a toadette. Which means it wouldn't be unthinkable to suspect she's using some kind of toad majik to track Go's whereabouts by channelling any potentially residual 'Go-Vim' that had been slowly but surely saturating and permeating his hat for the duration of being in his possession and well, on his head. The drawback being her head having to have to be IN the hat in order for her to have enough exposure. The downside of it being possibly an experimental spell and only giving her a rough and generalized idea in which way he went.

Suspicion numero dos: She's not a toad at all. She's something so crazy and outrageous and dangerous that in order for her to roam around free and without inciting mass exoduses wherever she went, she had no choice but to improvise the mask from Go's hat at the drop of... a hat. There's an insanely left field chance that, Blair? Is HUMAN. And we know what humans do in the Marioverse. Now don't we?

I LOVE conspiratorial speculation! Don't you? I'm on the edge of my seat! I'm so excited I think I might need to be walked! :D And best of all it's being drawn by the dude himself!
Cammiluna 10th Feb 2012, 12:59 AM edit delete reply
That Gostache!

The closest i could come to touching it is drawing it. :|

I can't.

He needs a teacup.

still cant get over how funny the melon smashing swimsuit comment is...

Go's Stache looks like a small version of the Mellinium Star's from Mario Party 3. I love his expression there.

McCoy's all like "Back in the day, we didn't need minigames to have a good party".

And Guy is... uh... umm...
Guy is holding a watermelon.
