So, guess who is having some bizarrely timed computer problems

a.) Me
b.) Obfuscobble

If you answered both a.) and b.), you are correct

Hopefully my not-loading-anything problems will be resolved soon, as I am posting this from a friend's laptop.

Worst case scenario, I'll go out and buy a new computer. Hooray for bad ass new jobs, and their accompanying paychecks. In the meantime, I'm unintentionally taking Halloween off. Seeya next Saturday/Sunday/however this works out

Wait, I just realized two things.
-"Squishy" probably doesn't NEED to go into King-Bob-omb's shell, since it's kinda DYING, and will probably kill...whatever pronoun you use for sentient explosives (that don't have mustaches, of course)
-WHY does King-Bob-omb wear pants? I mean, he doesn't need to wear them. I mean, he could at least replace that weak, water-permeable cloth material with a similar-looking metal or plastic replacement, with the fabric covering on if he wears it for looks, since his legs are just bare robotics.
...and wouldn't it be a liability, since it would be all too easy to just, I dunno, kick the knee of his pants and get it stuck in the joints? (Which could easily cause his locomotion system, IE legs, to get caught, and cease to function, thereby turning him into a near-defenseless statue)
Ranter 24th Oct 2011, 3:18 PM edit delete reply
None of the other bobombs have pants, so maybe pants are a sign of rank?
the_unchosen_one 24th Oct 2011, 4:33 PM edit delete reply
This whole chapter, KBB has made me think of a fancy southerner. Oftentimes, they have suspenders. Suspenders without pants just does not work. Also, if the belt is the true source of his power like was mentioned last comic, that would also not work without pants. I think it's meant to add a clean-ness to his detail
Evdog 24th Oct 2011, 11:04 PM edit delete reply
Frank: Horatio, we found a large bob-omb completely dismembered, aside from his trousers.

Perhaps Obfuscobble would be so kind as to tell us how he does this. The effects in the last panel are exceptional. At times I see photoshop, other times, illustrator. Both? Neither? Beautiful!
Obfuscobble 30th Oct 2011, 2:16 PM edit delete reply
Sei: I work in Illustrator and Manga Studio. I am quite proficient in doing even linework in illustrator, and Manga Studio allows for easy application of paneling and some tone effects. I start out with black outlines and flats, then add shading effects in layered, sometimes blurred-edge gradient vectors. For extra effects, I use Manga Studio. Tokostern adds the lettering, so I am unaware of the text each week. Thank you for your interest in the art process.

Dressing up as Nintendo characters isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'v gone as Midna and Marth in the past, and almost nobody knew who I was. .....But then when they DID know, they were all like, "AHHHHHHH" and I was alll like, "AAHHHHHH" and the person standing infront of us is like, "Just take the candy and go."

While it can be fun, I think it's a better idea to just wait for a convention or something......Unless you don't care what other people think of your costume and are just doing it for fun. :)

Let us talk of Pokemon. Now, is there any Pokemon that could possibly be cooler than Tropius? First off, it's a dinosaur. Face it, everyone's wanted a dinosaur at some point in their lives. To be precise, it appears to be a stegosaurus. Secondly, it has wings. That are made out of leaves. That's right. It's a leaf-wined stegosaurus that will let you hop on its back and fly anywhere you want to go. Finally, it grows bananas around its neck. So it's a leaf-winged stegosaurus that can fly you wherever you want to gow AND it can give you all the bananas you want.

Therefore, Tropius is the coolest 'mon ever. And Tommo is probably right, because I know almost nothing about dinosaurs. AND "A leaf-winged brontosaurus that that will let you hop on its back and fly you wherever you want to go while giving you all the bananas you could ever want"... somehow sounds better. Of course, In a fight between all of the Pokemon listed, Volcarona woule probably win... Alder nearly 6-0'ed my team that consisted of Serperior, Victini, Throh, Lilligant, a shiny Weavile (that's right, a shiny Weavile!), and a Zweilos that was soon to be a Hydregion. All but the Zweilos were in their mid-to-high 80's.

the_unchosen_one 5th Nov 2011, 2:59 PM edit delete reply
I think it's because charizard and gyarados were made during the time when dragon-type pokemon were meant to be the ULTIMATE pokemon. Yes, dual-typing was added in second generation, allowing for the option of them being fire/dragon and water/dragon, but there was only a single dragon in second generation, which was an evolutionary addition, and also a really powerful pokemon. I think you're right that gyarados could stand to be water/dragon, but I don't think that charizard should be, seeing that it's a starter
NotJoe 5th Nov 2011, 3:49 PM edit delete reply

That should answer your question right there then, lv.100 Samurott. Dratini/Dragonaire/Dragonite were the only dragon-types at the time, because they were supposed to be the ultimate pokemon that wasn't a legendary. I guess you could say that no other pokemon was worthy of being dragon type
